As a board certified orthopaedist, Dr. Jeffrey M. Nakano specializes in joint replacement. He is devoted to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation
and prevention of injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
“I believe that knowledgeable patients make the best decisions about their own treatment. That’s why I explain every step of the diagnostic process and all treatment options. I present a realistic outlook on the results we can achieve and frankly explain any risks that might be involved. I want all of my patients to know that I have given them my best efforts.”

Clinics and Appointment Scheduling:
As a specialist in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Nakano spends significant time in the OR and making rounds on his patients in the hospital. Because of this he is only available in clinic approximately two-and-a-half days per week. As a surgeon on active staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and Medical Center, he is also required to take trauma calls. We ask your patience and understanding if your appointment has to be rescheduled or is delayed due to an emergency.
I was able to walk one mile at the end of the first week after a complete knee replacement. I highly recommend Dr. Nakano.

I was recommended to Dr. Nakano by a friend. He did a great job. The staff at RMOA is very accommodating, especially Alix the scheduler.

I am writing this letter to express my utmost gratitude and appreciation for the total hip replacement I received from you. The care I received from you and your PA’s was second to none. The time you spent with me from the initial work-up and all the way through to the pre-op consultation was thorough, kind and informative. My phone calls were always answered promptly. I found you to be genuinely caring, highly skilled, dedicated surgeon who clearly loves what you do. I also appreciate your sense of humor. In summary I am so very thankful that I chose you as my doctor.
I am so glad that Dr. Jeffrey Nakano did my surgery. I was in such pain and unable to do any physical exercise before the surgery. After I recovered from the surgery, I completed the Bolder Boulder 10K race with my family. Thank you Dr. Nakano for making this possible by giving me a new hip.
Because of my orthopaedic care at RMOA, I can once again do the simple things in life that I have not been able to do without pain for the last thirteen tears. I am not an overly athletic person, but I love to hike, walk my dogs and work in my garden. I am what most doctors would consider “too young” for a hip replacement, but because I had tried all other conservative treatment options, this was my only remaining alternative. I finally decided that I was way too young to feel that old. After my hip replacement, I can do all of the things I love to do without pain or drugs. I am a new person with a new outlook on life. It’s the best thing that I had ever done for myself. Thank you so much Dr. Nakano. You truly are my hero!
