Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners

Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates’ physician assistants (PAs) are health care professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. As part of their comprehensive responsibilities, PAs conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery, and, in virtually all states, can write prescriptions. Within the physician-PA relationship, physician assistants exercise autonomy in medical decision making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. A PA's practice may also include education, research, and administrative services.

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are advanced practice nurses who provide high-quality healthcare services similar to those of a physician. Like a physician, NPs are qualified to diagnose and treat a wide range of health problems. Throughout their practice, they maintain close working relationships with physicians. A Nurse Practitioner has completed advanced education, including a Master's Degree and sometimes a Doctorate as well as training in the diagnosis and management of common medical conditions, including chronic illnesses. An NP sees patients of all ages and can serve as a patient's regular health care provider. Besides clinical care, NPs focus on health promotion, disease prevention, health education and counseling. NPs have distinguished themselves from other healthcare providers by focusing on the whole person when treating specific health problems and educating their patients on the effects those problems will have on them, their loved ones and their communities. Wellness, wise health and lifestyle choices and patient education are an NP's top priorities.

The RMOA Physician/PA & NP Team – The Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates Physician-PA & NP team provides the best possible service and care throughout every stage of your treatment. This team practice concept enhances the delivery of high quality health care, offering efficient delivery time and visitations to all patients.
