Dr. Richard Price, a sport medicine physician with Rocky Mountain Orthopedic Associate (RMOA) in Grand Junction, is schedule to travel to a World Cup competition in Italy as a physician for the Adaptive U.S. Ski Team.
During the competition, set for Jan. 17-23 in Sestriere, Price and other physicians from competing countries will be available to treat injuries. In addition, a physical therapist will travel with the teams to help prepare athletes prior to competition.
Before joining RMO as a primary care sports medicine physician, Price served as a sports medicine volunteer during ski races while attending the University of Utah. He later worked as a physician for the U.S. Ski Team during select races. After moving to Mammoth, Calif., Price worked with professional snowboarders training in the area and volunteered to work with the U.S Snowboard Team. This is Price's first year working with the Adapted U.S. Ski Team.
