Alvarado’s dream is to one day own his own restaurant, drawing on the experience he envisions gaining through WCCC’s Associate of Applied Science Degree in Bakery & Pastry Arts. Alvarado currently works at Sushi Rock restaurant to supplement his classroom learning.

The $500 scholarship sponsored by RMOA was awarded to a local high school senior who planned to attend the 2013 fall semester at WCCC’s culinary program and covered the cost of his required cooking tools and uniforms.

RMOA decided to offer this scholarship as culinary arts are a resource to better health and can function as a springboard to the development of a Sports Performance Nutrition program.
